Planning your Trip
Our team is at your service, ready to make travel recommendations and help you plan your trip from beginning to end. Our volunteer adventures can be custom tailored to your interests, with the bulk of the time spent at Bogani Cottages.
Most guests choose to begin their journey in Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi. Your group has the option to spend a day exploring some of the city’s more popular attractions, such as the Giraffe Center and the Karen Blixen Museum. Where else in the world can you visit orphaned baby elephants and kiss giraffes in the span of a day?
Bogani
From Nairobi, you will travel to Bogani Cottages to begin your adventure in the Maasai Mara. While staying at Bogani, you will volunteer and meet the communities Free The Children serves.
In between volunteer activities you will have a chance to meet our Maasai and Kipsigis hosts who will teach you about their culture through interactive community walks and discussions.
Your evenings will be spent relaxing by the campfire, discussing the day’s experiences with your host and enjoying spectacular stargazing under the clear African sky.
More Adventure!
Following your time at Bogani, our trips coordinators are happy to recommend a variety of options on how to spend the rest of your time in Kenya. Many guests spend a few days on safari, watching Kenya’s famous Big Five—leopards, rhinos, elephants, lions and buffalo. Others guests prefer to relax at one of the exclusive luxury retreats on the remote island of Lamu. We have a range of offerings to cater to all tastes and budgets.
We work closely with a number of service providers and resorts across the country to create the perfect itinerary that will meet all your expectations - whether you’d like to swim in the Indian Ocean, gaze out over the majestic Rift Valley or eat breakfast under the watchful eyes of a curious giraffe.
Before You Go
Your final day in Kenya can be spent exploring the market in Nairobi for souvenirs and enjoying a final Kenyan-style barbeque before your flight home.
