Shelby Pearce
Title: Leadership Facilitator, Speaker
Interesting Fact: Shelby looks to create awareness about HIV/AIDS in any public place she can.
Shelby Pearce joined the Leaders Today team in 2007 with a passion for inspiring youth citizenship in her peers around the world. After seeing a Free The Children speech at her high school in 2006, she was instantly motivated to start “rockin’ the change.” Little more than a year later, Shelby had gone from an enrapt audience member to an inspirational speaker in her own right, bringing her message of youth empowerment and volunteerism to students across Canada.
A trained dancer, Shelby has always loved expressing herself in creative ways. She is an associate member of the Western Ontario Conservatory of Ballet, where she received gold medal status. As a youth herself, Shelby has a unique perspective on volunteerism and youth issues. While in school, Shelby encouraged her peers to become involved in their community through her dynamic personality and motivational attitude. Besides her indomitable optimism and charm, one of her greatest assets as a Leaders Today expert speaker is her ability to relate to her peers and motivate them into social action by sharing personal stories from her own life.
In her spare time, Shelby loves watching movies, dancing and laughing uncontrollably with friends and family. She strongly encourages daydreaming whenever possible, and believing in the unbelievable. Shelby actively believes that “By accepting yourself and fully being yourself, your simple presence can make others happy.” – Anonymous.
