Kevin Glowinski
Title: Kenya Trip Facilitator
Interesting Fact: Kevin is happy to walk many rugged kilometres through the woods with a canoe on his back—canoes are his first choice of transportation.
With six seasons as a senior guide, Kevin has been responsible for leading youth of all ages through the wilderness of Northern Ontario by means of canoe and portage. Watching and assisting his participants push through their physical and mental limits as they step outside their everyday comforts has always been Kevin’s most rewarding experience. With Leaders Today, he will be facilitating trips to Kenya and enjoying seeing participants empower themselves alongside their peers as they learn, integrate and contribute.
Kevin credits a trip to the Dominican Republic at the age of 14 as the moment he began to learn. Exposure to this foreign culture, language and people left him with a monster bug of curiosity that he has had a need to feed ever since. Travelling is more than a passion for Kevin—he thrives on understanding and participating in other cultures and different ways of life. He has since returned to and explored most of Central America. In addition, he attended a junior college in Switzerland where he resided with a French speaking family, soaked up Western Europe and completed his high school credits. After completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Guelph, Kevin headed overseas to explore the world. On his journey he trekked through the south of Africa, Israel, India, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.
Kevin enjoys reading and watching movies, but is dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He strongly advocates the importance of 'always aspiring': pushing limits both mentally and physically. His summers consist of paddling whitewater rivers and during the winter you can find him at the hockey rink several nights a week or snowboarding on the weekends. Kevin is always open to new and unique experiences, but is a fundamental believer that life is better outside.
