Adam Baden-Clay
Title: Kenya Trips Facilitator
Interesting Fact: Born in Rhodesia, Adam has the dubious distinction of coming from a country that no longer exists.
Adam Baden-Clay joined the Leaders Today team in 2008 as a trips facilitator in Kenya’s beautiful Maasai Mara park reserve. He is humbled by the privilege of waking up every morning in one of the world’s most breathtaking places and among some of its friendliest and most interesting people. He can hardly wait to share this experience with groups of young people from many different backgrounds.
An inveterate traveller, Adam has patrolled the East Timor border with the Australian Army, explored the backstreets of Penang in Malaysia by rickshaw, ventured on camel safari in the Thar Desert of India, climbed mountains in the Swiss Alps and walked sections of the Burma-Thailand railway. He brings a rich wealth of experiences to his position as a trips facilitator, and loves hearing about other people’s travel adventures. Adam is passionate about empowering young people by helping them to understand that they have the capacity to make real change in the world, and giving them the tools to do so.
In his spare time Adam loves to indulge in all things related to the outdoors and adventure, like hiking in the back country, skiing off-piste (though probably not in Kenya!), climbing local crags or jumping out of airplanes. He does his best to live by the words of his great grandfather Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, who said, “The greatest thing is to bring happiness into the lives of others.”
